Managing ideas

How to review the feature requests your customers submit, change their status, and manage merging, pinning, and visibility.

Opening the idea list

Click Feedback (/admin/analysis) in the admin sidebar to see every idea collected in your workspace. Click an idea to open its detail screen (/admin/ideas/:id).

Clicking an idea anywhere — Dashboard, Roadmap, Announcements — opens the same detail screen, so ideas work the same way wherever you are.

The dashboard at a glance

The Dashboard (/admin) in the sidebar summarizes how feedback is piling up.

  • 30-day activity chart — switch tabs between ideas, votes, and tracked customers.
  • Key metric cards — ideas, comments, votes, and tracked customers, each with its 7-day change.
  • Recent ideas / recent activity tables — what just came in and what happened lately.

What you can do on an idea

The detail screen gives you everything you need to run an idea.

  • Change status — move it through Voting, In progress, Cancelled, Done, and any custom stage.
  • Merge — fold a duplicate or similar idea into another one.
  • Pin — keep an important idea at the top of the list.
  • Public / hidden toggle — decide whether the idea shows on the public board.
  • Delete — remove the idea.
  • Admin comments and replies — respond as the team.
  • Vote — admins can vote too.

Default statuses and customization

Ideas come with four default statuses: Voting, In progress, Cancelled, and Done. You can change each status name, color, and visibility under Statuses in Project settings.

Adding feedback yourself

Use the compose button on the Feedback screen to add an idea as an admin. Handy for logging requests you heard on a call or in a meeting.

As you type, AI suggests similar existing ideas so you don't create duplicates.

NotePlan requirement
AI duplicate detection is available from the Starter plan ($39/mo). Workspaces without a subscription can still add ideas manually, but similar-idea suggestions won't run.

AI source badges

Ideas created automatically — from email or AI detection — carry a source badge, so you can tell at a glance whether a teammate wrote it or an automated pipeline brought it in.

Analyzing who voted

The right side of the idea detail screen shows a segment panel with the customer groups behind each vote. It lets you back up calls like "paying power users especially want this" with data.

See Customer groups and segment analysis for details.

Auto-matching releases with PR references

Every idea detail screen offers a reference in the form lenit#xxxx. Paste it into a GitHub PR title or body and Leni matches the deployed PR to the idea, then suggests marking it shipped.

  1. Copy the lenit#xxxx reference from the idea detail screen.
  2. Paste it into the title or body of the GitHub PR that implements the feature.
  3. Once the PR ships, Leni suggests moving the idea to Done.

See Leni, your AI manager for how Leni works.
